The Skilled Worker visa is the UK's primary work visa route, replacing the former Tier 2 (General) category. It allows UK employers to hire overseas workers for roles at RQF Level 3 or above. The visa can be granted for up to 5 years initially and leads to settlement after 5 years of continuous residence.
Applicants must meet specific criteria including a job offer from a licensed sponsor, appropriate skill level (RQF 3 or above), salary thresholds (generally £38,700 or the going rate for the occupation, whichever is higher), English language proficiency (B1 level), and financial maintenance requirements.
